Tennis camps 2023 limited to 18 places per day.
At Kingham Hill and Stowe our tennis school is ideal for players aged 5 -15yrs. The schools are suitable for players who are at beginner, improver and intermediate level. Groups are organised by age and standard, ensuring you receive the most appropriate coaching, all in a super fun and friendly environment. With the use of a classroom for break/lunch and indoor sports centre, we are never effected by inclement weather. We aim to keep the ratio of 1 coach to 6 players with a maximum number of 18 places per day. We provide a daily update on how your child/ren is doing including a report on their progress each day.
Helping to develop well rounded people through sport
Our philosophy is to help develop well-rounded people through sport by creating the best atmosphere, environment and pathway possible.
The programme is led by Chris Hampton LTA Level 5 Master Club coach and a team of qualified coaches.
With over 25 years of experience, Chris has helped develop a number of vibrant and comprehensive coaching programmes for all ages and levels.
What to expect
Our tennis coaching framework is based around our philosphy to develop athletes who become great movers around the court. Our sessions are creative and fun which helps set the right environment to learn and improve in.
A typical group session looks like.
Never Waste a Warm up - to develop athletic qualities and great movers 20 minutes
Theme of the week - eg Serve & Return 30 minutes with a game based approach to coaching.
Conditioned Game Play 10 minutes
This style of coaching will lead to maximum learning and improvement that helps create a love for the sport
'Tennis is a game and coaching is not the sport' we want players to learn to win and lose and treat both the same
Recommendations For Parents
We can provide all equipment and recommend that you speak to Chris before considering purchasing any rackets, clothing or shoes. With that said we recommend that you always wear approriate clothing, suncream, hats depending on the time of year and the very unpredicatble British weather.
We recommend that everyone always brings a drink such as water to each session.
Your Tennis skills improve the more you play and time you spend on court. Please speak to Chris for more details. Or why not join a local club or book a court at kingham and play with your children as much as possible. Tennis is a game the whole family can play.
Information on local events and competitions can be found from our partners the Oxfordshire LTA or Game Set and Matchplay.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Breakpoint Tennis holiday camp centres and hope to see you on court very soon,
Chris Hampton
