Lakefield School is restricting use of their car parking spaces for health and safety reasons following a 'near miss' incident in the car park involving a student and a resident's car.
Since then, barriers have been erected and we have been working with the school to ease restrictions so that spaces are made available for the start of social evenings on Mondays and Wednesdays. WeI have also indicated that similar concessions for Saturday and Sunday morning tennis would be very welcome and we are hopeful that they will raise the barrier at those times after the half term break.
However, the school has just reported that some people have been accessing the car park when the barrier is down by driving along the adjoining bus lane and then turning right into the carpark via a dropped kerb. The school CCTV indicates that at least one of those people is a tennis club member.
As a consequence, please remember that you should only access the car park out of hours when the barrier is UP. Please also remember that there are a few spaces adjacent to the nursery which the school has offered to the community for use when the car park is closed (this comprises about seven spaces to the left of Cadbury Hall when you approach it from Lake Lane - see attached photo for clarification).
