We have just been informed that the barrier at Lakefield School car park will now stay open until until 7pm Mon- Wed and until 8pm Thurs and Friday.  At the weekend the barrier will open at 8.30am and close at 8pm.

This should ease the car parking problems members have been experiencing. Thank you for your patience during the last few months following the installation of the barrier. 

Please note that this arrangement has been achieved owing to careful negotiation with the school management and is still dependent on maintaining their goodwill at all times. In this regard, PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO ACCESS THE CAR PARK WHEN THE BARRIER IS DOWN.  Vehicles belonging to a couple of  members of the club recently gained entry into the car park via the bus lane when the barrier was down and were captured on CCTV - this almost jeoparised our discussions to gain these new concessions. 

Please note that we have had complaints from neighbours about club members parking on part of the pavement on the bend near the cul de sac which backs onto the courts. This restricts access for wheelchair users/pushchairs etc and can also pose problems for refuse collections and other large vehicle movements.  Hopefully, the new access times for the car park will address those problems, but at times when the barrier is down please remember to use the car parking spaces at Cadbury Hall/school nursery (see photo) or park on-street further along Lake Lane.
