Club Finals Day

Our Finals Day took place on Sunday 14 July and the weather was glorious, as was the tennis! Judging by the amount of food and drink consumed, everyone had a great time and the FCA allowed us to park vehicles near the courts, making it so much easier to manage the occasion.  Congratulations to everyone who participated in the matches on the day, and also those behind the scenes who made it all possible. The results will soon be available on the website. By the way, there are always jobs to do to support the running of the club, including DIY, ground maintenance, and even just tidying up (thanks, by the way to Daren Leonard's son Oliver who is doing a grand job as our new fortnightly clubhouse cleaner) - if you are interested in helping, please contact me or any other member of the committee.

Howzat?

Our annual cricket match against Frampton Cricket Club takes place on Friday 19 July at 6 PM on the pitch next to the Bell Inn.  The weather forecast is very good so why not come down and cheer on our team (and enjoy cheap drinks at the Green Club!!).

It's not too late to book our Summer Tennis Camp for Children!

Our coach Ben Hardwick still has spaces for his Summer Tennis Camp sessions, which are taking place over a four week period over the weeks commencing 29 July and 5, 12 and 19 August.  They are open to children within the age range of 4-16 years from 10 AM to 2 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week at a cost of only £25 per day (with an extra 20% discount for siblings).  This is excellent value for money in comparison to most activities on offer and Ben promises that each session will be great fun.  To book, or find out more details, please go to https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/BenjaminHardwickCoaching/Coaching/Camps or you can call Ben on 07807 427586

Tennis-a-thon - Sunday 11 August

As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, we are planning a charity fundraiser at the tennis club on Sunday 11 August.  From 9 AM to 9 PM we are looking for volunteers to participate in a tennis marathon across all three courts, and raise money for the locally-based Young Lives v CancerThis is an invitation for everyone (including non-members) of all ages to take part in a doubles game/fun knock around at a cost of £5 per hour for each participant.  If you would like to participate for an hour - or maybe even more - please let me know, stating what times would suit you best (or no preference) so that I can draw up a timetable. Bring your friends and family - everyone is welcome. Contact me at rbmcnally1@gmail.com

Look out for Ben at the Frampton Country Fair!

The Fair takes place on Sunday 8 September and our coach Ben Hardwick will be hosting a free fun tennis challenge for children.  Hopefully, some of those young participants will catch the 'tennis bug' and join us down at our Lake Lane Courts.

20th anniversary celebrations - Sunday 22 September

As you will know, we held the Finals Day earlier than usual this year to accommodate a special Club 20th anniversary fun day on Sunday 22 September. Everyone is welcome and we can guarantee a great day out.  There will be a barbeque, drinks and a feast of tennis, probably in the form of round robin events with lots of competitors vying for prizes.  People who were founding members of the club will be invited as VIP guests. Other 20th anniversary events are in the pipeline - a charity tennis marathon (see below), a quiz in October and perhaps a celebration meal.
