Introduction
Higher Poynton Tennis Club is a friendly local club established in 1925. It has a long history of providing tennis in the local community.
We are not a competitive club, but we do actively promote social tennis and we welcome players of all abilities and ages. We have a cosy club house with changing facilities and a small kitchen. refreshments of tea, coffee and juice are free and always avaliable.
We are in a super location, so check out our playing timetable and come and say hello, the kettle is always on!
What a fantastic weekend of centenary celebrations at Higher Poynton Tennis Club! A big thank you to the organising team and to all who came who came to celebrate and share their memories of the club. What a turnout of people came today to hear a super speech from John Franklin, a staunch supporter of the club who first joined in the mid 1960s. Even the weather deserves a thank you as we managed to hold our tournament on Saturday. Thanks also to Peter Oakes, Poynton’s Mayor, for taking the time to visit and present the trophy to our popular tournament winner, Tony Hennon, today. Here’s to another 100 years!
