Membership fees held constant for 2024-25

Membership fees are held constant for the 2024-25 season at a very reasonable £65 for adults. Players of all levels are welcome to join. Please come and try taster sessions on club nights starting in April 2024

Looking for new members

Hook and Newnham tennis club are actively seeking new members to take part in regular, fun tennis with the emphasis on social play with no expectation of level. Please come and join us for tennis and become part of a great social tennis club with opportunities for all levels of players.  There are opportunities to join us for free taster sessions on club nights Thursday evenings when the weather is suitable.

Membership Fees

The priority for the club is to grow the membership and fees remain unchanged from last year and apply for the period 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025

COACHING: In partnership with Gary Stanford, we are now offering coaching sessions. Whether you have children you want to introduce to tennis, or an adult wishing to learn or improve, Gary is there to make it happen.

Welfare - Hook and Newnham Tennis Club are committed to the Welfare and Safeguarding of its members and juniors taking part in coaching sessions. We advise that parents escort their children to the tennis courts and remain on site during the coaching sessions to deal with any welfare and personal needs. 

FACILITIES: There are two all-weather tennis courts in excellent condition surrounded by a high net fence and situated in the quiet countryside of Hook Common. All subscriptions and fund raising are used to maintain the high standard of the courts. The bar at the Cricket Club Pavilion is available to tennis club members when open for cricket activities and we have access to the toilets throughout the year. Car parking is adjacent to the pavilion.

CAN ANYONE JOIN? Everyone with some experience of playing tennis is welcome. You don’t have to be a match player. Age is no barrier as long as you have a certain level of fitness so that you can enjoy your time on the court. You will have the opportunity to play with all levels of ability during club sessions and also time to get to know other members. 

WHEN CAN I PLAY? All members can use the courts to play with other members when they are not being used for matches. Club evening is on Thursday and during this session everyone mixes in and balls are provided. A committee member is always present to help with the organisation of the evening.

PAY AS YOU PLAY:  We are pleased to offer Pay As You Play. To start playing on our well maintained and secluded courts simply create an account and head to the Booking Section. Payment of £5 per court per hour is made online as part of the booking process.

BASINGSTOKE & DISTRICT LEAGUE: We are actively involved in the Basingstoke League and have a respectable record.  If you would like to play league tennis, we are always looking for new members to play competitive tennis.  We are also able to increase the number of teams entered into the league if we have more club members wanting to play..
