Who we are
With an eight-court floodlit facility (4 hard courts & 4 artifical grass courts) situated on the banks of the Royal Military Canal in the historic, market town of Hythe, we are a welcoming family-friendly, community tennis club open to players of all ages and abilities (4 - 80+).
Whether you are a complete beginner or used to play and would like to get back into tennis, are looking for a fun way to keep fit or would like to play competitive tennis, we have something to offer you.
Our members come from all walks of life and new members are always given a warm welcome. Join us and enjoy our fantastic facilities and a vibrant social scene too!

The club is open daily between 7am - 10pm. Members can book one court per day for a maximum of 90-minutes, have free use of the floodlights and may invite guests on a Pay & Play basis. Access to the club is secured and the gate code is issued to all members.
COACHING At HLTC we have a great team of LTA-accredited coaches who can help you improve your tennis whatever your level. Our coaching provider, CH Tennis Ltd, offers Adult & Junior Group coaching courses, Individual coaching lessons, Holiday Clubs, Junior Events and a range of programmes for local Primary and Secondary Schools.
TEAMS The club’s policy regarding match play is to try and include all players who wish to play competitive tennis. This is determined by our coaches who grade all the club’s match players according to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Player Level Identification Chart. CLUB SOCIALS & EVENTS In addition to our twice weekly Social Mix-Ins & monthly Supper Nights (which are a great way for members to meet each other) we also organise our very popular Ladies' & Men's Days, Summer Tournaments and annual Club Championship Finals Day. SAFEGUARDING Please respect others and the Club Rules & Policies. As a club we contribute actively to enable more people to play tennis more often in a manner that is safe, inclusive and fair.
During the summer months the hard courts (1 - 4) may feel a little "sticky" and the risk of tripping increases so please wear the correct all-court tennis shoes.
Closed circuit television (CCTV) is installed at the Club for the purpose of members and visitors safety and premises security. Images and audio from the static cameras are recorded.
