Friends of Hythe Dementia
"We operate a Trust fund to support those living with dementia and their carers by providing essential aids and adaptations to maintain their quality of life for as long as possible. We also consider applications made to us from organisations who offer activities and services to support our beneficiaries."
Understanding Dementia
The Hythe Dementia Forum started on 20th August 2015 when the Hythe Town Council agreed that Hythe should set up a Dementia Aware Forum. The aim was and still is to encourage the people of Hythe to become aware of those living in the Community who have dementia and the needs of their Carers looking after them.
Dementia is a broad umbrella term used to describe a range of progressive neurological disorders. There are many different types of dementia and some people may present with a combination of types. Regardless of which type is diagnosed, each person will experience their dementia in their own unique way.
