Club Development

Phase 1 of the planned and approved Club development project will be starting on Monday 29th September for an estimated period of 4 weeks.

During this period temporary fencing will be placed in the front car park to create a safe working area for the contractors.

Access to and from the Club will be through the double gates at the rear end of the Club next to court 5, the main car parking area will be the rear car park and on the land behind courts 5-8, the gate will be opened every day during the 4 weeks.

  • The patio area will also be reduced in size as a channel has to be dug for cables that need to go between the clubhouse and the location of the new storage container. Once this has been completed the restriction will be removed.
  • The cycle racks during this period will be repositioned so they can still be used.
  • We will try to keep the interruption and noise to a minimum, please bear with us during this period.
  • If you have any questions or concerns etc please pass these on to any member of the committee.

Phase 1 will provide the Club with additional secure storage by creating space for a 20ft Shipping container which will be located behind the coaches shed.

  • This will involve removing the current fencing, entrance gate and hedge and the laying of a new concrete base.
  • New fencing will be installed with a new gate and the entrance made wider, the current small step will be removed to improve disabled access.
  • A new hedge will be planted and screening added to the side of the container.

As part of the Clubs drive to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly, the top of the storage container will be utilised for the mounting of Solar panels which will supply power to a battery storage system with any excess energy being sold back to our energy supplier, thus greatly reducing our future energy bills.

Completion of phase one will allow us to move on to improving the other outside areas of the Club during 2026 and to move to phase 2 which is the enlarging and improving of the clubhouse itself over the next few years.
