Why Being a Tennis Leader Could Fit on Your Child's Agenda

The Tennis Leaders course is available to anyone aged 11-16yrs, plus anyone 16yrs+ in full time education, wishing to get involved and can also go towards those who do the Duke of Edinburgh. The content is suitable for juniors just starting out on the tennis career pathway, looking to support their local coach, referee or club official. Many Tennis Leaders will be deployed in a voluntary capacity, especially in schools, as an opportunity to develop their employability and life skills.If you are interested in your children to learn how to play better tennis and get involved in other exciting activities email our Head Coach, Tee teem.tenniscoaching @gmail.com.

Introduction

Mirfield Tennis Club is a friendly community club committed to making tennis available to all ages, abilities and social groups. There has never been a better time to try tennis!

Mirfield Tennis Club has existed since at least 1880 and is a not-for-profit, community club run by a volunteer committee.  It runs alongside and with support from Kirklees Council, whilst also being affiliated with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

Facilities

  • 2 x Floodlit all weather courts
  • 4 x All weather courts
  • Clubhouse with changing room, shower, kitchen and social facilities
  • Group and individual coaching sessions
  • Use of ball machine to members
  • Year round social tennis

The club has a number of league teams (mens, ladies and mixed) in the local leagues including the Huddersfield and District Tennis League (HADTL), Calderdale Tennis League and Wakefield and District Tennis League.

Additionally, the club benefits from a number of club run events including annual tournaments (internal and opens), social tennis sessions & events, ladder leagues and much more.
