Role:

Tennis Coach (Minimum LTA Level 3)

About the Role

Murrayfield Lawn Tennis Club is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable Level 3 (minimum) qualified Tennis Coach to lead and develop our coaching programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about growing participation at all levels, supporting junior coaches, and helping shape the future direction of coaching within a friendly and welcoming club environment.

The successful candidate will deliver a weekly programme including:
•1 hour – Adult Cardio Tennis
•1 hour – Adult Coaching Session
•1 hour – Red Ball
•1 hour – Orange Ball
•1 hour – Green Ball

There will also be opportunities to deliver individual lessons as required.
Sessions should be engaging, inclusive, well-structured, and aligned with LTA player development principles.

Key Responsibilities:

•Plan and deliver high-quality, structured group coaching sessions.
•Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for players of all ages and abilities.
•Develop and mentor junior coaches within the club, to help them progress.
•Work collaboratively with the club committee and members to:
oIdentify opportunities to expand and enhance the coaching programme
oIntroduce new initiatives and formats to grow participation and club membership
•Build links with local primary schools to:
oPromote tennis and the club within the community
oCreate school-to-club participation pathways
oDeliver outreach coaching sessions where appropriate
•Support club events and competitions when required.


Ideal Qualifications, Skills & Experience

•Minimum LTA Level 3 Tennis Coaching Qualification
•Valid First Aid and Safeguarding certification
•Strong organisational and communication skills
•Experience delivering group sessions for both adults and juniors
•Ability to inspire and develop young players and assistant coaches
•Experience delivering school outreach programmes
•Experience running Cardio Tennis sessions
•A proactive mindset with ideas to help grow the coaching programme.


Working Hours:

Suggested Initial Hours:
Saturdays – 9:00am–2:00pm or 10:00am–3:00pm (5 hours)

Start Date:

June 2026

Operating Model:

The coach will manage the coaching programme and associated administration.
Model of pay: Open to discussion based on experience and preference.
