The May Mixed Doubles event was held on Sunday May 27.  Although apparently most of Scotland was bathed in sunshine, North Berwick was plagued by the haar.  Nevertheless, there was an enjoyable afternoon of tennis, with 11 pairs competing.  After the round-robin group stages, the semi-finals saw Alan Chainey and Grace Turnbull beat Brian Ferguson and Norma Reid in one, whilst in the other Steve Wilson and Lynn Hutchinson beat Duncan Rae and Ann Hume.  Then in the final, a substantial group of spectators withstood the chilly conditions to see Alan and Grace overcome Steve and Lynn.
