Juniors

About Us

Oxfordshire Junior County Badminton exists to promote and provide high quality badminton opportunities to players of school age. We are an inclusive organisation that values player enjoyment and experience as much as achievements and medals.

We believe in the value that badminton and sport in general can bring to a child’s physical and social development.

In 2016 Oxfordshire Badminton were named county of the year by Badminton England largely due to the quality and variety of training offered to junior players.

Director of Badminton Julie Bradbury (a former double Olympian) manages the training programme and oversees around 115 players aged between 7 and 17 years old.

In addition to friendly matches, Oxfordshire’s juniors compete at U13, U15 and U17 age groups in the Shires League Inter-County Competition. This is the national inter-county championships for juniors and has been running since 1983. We also enter a team in the season ending prestigious Inter-County Tournament or ICT (forU18s) which is held over four days at Nottingham University.
