Oxfordshire under 16s took on Northamptonshire on Sunday at St Helens School, Abingdon in the Shires League.
The visitors had lost their first 4 matches so the expectation for a win were high. The optimism proved to be well founded as Oxfordshire took an early lead and never looked back, winning 17-3. This lifts them into a playoff place from which they will hope to earn themselves a place in the end of season league finals.
Playing for Oxfordshire were Albie Marriott, Ben Horseman’s, Harry Jones, Mohammad Aktar, Matthew Dunn, Holly Craig, Rebecca Norkett, Catherine Cousins and Eleanor Hoch.
There were also some good individual performances over the weekend. Adam Burden picked up two Gold medals at the West Midlands under 15 silver played in Birmingham. Adam competed in the boys doubles and mixed doubles. In the same tournament Jason Ou also picked up two medals of his own. He won a bronze medal in the boys singles and a silver in the boys doubles.
