Oxfordshire had 3 teams in Shires League action at the weekend. The under 12’s travelled to Hertfordshire where they took on the hosts in the morning before playing Avon in the afternoon.
Hertfordshire were top of the league and proved to be a very strong team and whilst the Oxfordshire players managed to raise their game they lost 18-2. However they bounced back in the afternoon to beat Avon 13-7 and take themselves to 3rd place in the league with 2 games to play.
The under 14’s had a home match at St Helens School, Abingdon against Middlesex winning 14-6 and picking up their first win of the season.
The final team in action were the under 18’s who took on Warwickshire 2nds in Warwick but were beaten 15-5.

U14 – Ben Horseman, Jason Ou, Clement Jin, Jack Needell, Zoe Soonawalla, Jeevika Tilakraj, Rachel Wang and Lydia Feshe
U18 – Oliver Butler, Charlie Driver, Jamie Redfern, Harry Jones, Andrew Norkett, Eleanor Butler, Maddy Cook, Holly Craig, Rebecca Norkett
There was also individual success at the weekend with a small group of Oxfordshire players making the trip to Stevenage for the Hertfordshire U17 Bronze tournament. Best performance came from Maddy Cook and Holly Craig who won gold in the girls doubles. Andrew Norkett collected a bronze in the boys singles then teamed up with Maddy Cook to win another bronze in the mixed doubles.
