We are setting up a new Mixed doubles box league at Pensford for all adult members and high performing juniors (full and midweek) to give a chance to everyone to play friendly mixed doubles with different partners during the winter.

It will start at the beginning of October 2024 and finish at the end of April 2025.

The set up will be similar to the singles box but with 2 ladies and 3 men in each box (so long as the numbers work).

A maximum of 6 matches per person will be played over the course of 7 months and it’s a chance to play with different partners and against different pairs in each game.

Each match will be played as best of three sets (with a normal tie break to 7 at 6-6 in the first two sets) and with a championship tie break to 10 if one set all.

Games can be played at any time, but midweek players must remember to pay a guest fee if playing outside of their allowed times. 

The scoring will be the same as the singles box league:

4 points for a win

2 points if you win a set but lose the match

1 point if you lose but play

No walkover unless agreed with the administrator

At the end of the time, the top scorers (1 lady and 1 man) will move up and the bottom scorers (1 lady and 1 man) will go down.
