Join in sessions

Updated on 14 September 2020.  Social tennis has been a big part of the club culture at Pewsey, with members individually turning up at club social session, playing alongside other members, chatting between play and striking up friendships through tennis.  While this is not completely possible at the moment, the club is able to offer a substitute arrangement where individual members can book into a 'Join-in' session and play other club members.

Courts have been set-aside for 'Join-in' sessions at 10-12am on Sunday morning, 2-4pm on Friday (new) and 6-8pm on Wednesday evenings and all members are encouraged to participate, regularly or occasionally.

The process for signing up to one of the sessions is a little different to booking a normal court slot.  Instead of booking  into a court 1-6 time slot, book yourself into a slot in the relevant column to the right of court 6. Ignore the times shown against the slots, the idea is to build up a list of members who will be attending the Sun 10-12am, Fri 2-4pm or Wed 6-8pm sessions.

NOTE - when you arrive at the club, please go directly onto a 'join-in' court, building up fours in the order of arrival.  Do not congregate by court gates or by the club house, maintaining 2m separation at all times between members from different households.   At the end of each set, players in fours may swap partners, or swap with players in other fours (only permitted for 'join-in' sessions, not private sessions). Balls may be shared, however, you should use the on-court sanitisers before and after each set.
