County Cup Qualifier Success for Hampshire and Isle of Wight

Two days of tennis – which started in pouring rain and finished in hot sunshine – saw Hampshire and Ilse of Wight (ioW) boys U11 team come out victorious.   Teams from Wiltshire, Somerset, Cornwall, South Wales, Dorset and Hampshire/IoW competed over the weekend of 15/16 June at Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club courts.   Matches were supervised by LTA referee Alison Jackson, who presented the winning team with their medals.

The LTA County Cup competition is open to teams of boys and girls across a number of age categories.  Local winners, in this case Hampshire and IoW, will go on to compete at regional finals in a few weeks’ time.  The standard of play from all the young stars is amazing, and credit must go to the coaching staff who prepare teams ready for the competition.

RWB Tennis Club is proud to host the County Cup Qualifying events, and it demonstrates the club’s commitment to junior tennis for local players and teams from across the South West.
