court resurfacing, coffee shop and events, floodlight charge

The committee would like to share a few updates:

1) court resurfacing

We will start resurfacing courts 1+2 from Monday morning, 20th February. For this reason, the courts have been blocked and can't be booked for the next few weeks. We will keep you updated on the progress and when they will be ready to play on again. We appreciate that court availability might be an issue during those weeks but we hope for your understanding.

2) coffee shop

Thank you everyone who has sent in their feedback. Unfortunately, based on these, we won't be able to continue the coffee shop in a similar way Phil and Libby ran it last year. However, we do understand that there is the wish to have access to tea and coffee. Annette has kindly offered to set these up for everyone to make their own cups. If you have been down at the club today, you will have seen that these are available now on the kitchen counter. They will be left out so you can access them any time you're at the club. In order for us to be able to offer this, we would ask you to leave some money in the honesty box next to it when you make a drink. Please remember to wash your cup after you've finished your drink.

Additionally to this, we're planning to run a few different events this year. For some of these, Phil and Libby have kindly offered to either support us by opening the coffee shop again or run the full event. More details on these events will be shared closer to the time.

3) charge for floodlights

Jonathan was able to secure us a lower electricity rate which means we have now switched the metres back to charge £1 for 15 minutes.
