Booking The Ball Machine

The Ball Machine can be booked out via ClubSpark for £8 per hour. You can reserve the Ball Machine in the same way that you would book a court.

Book the Ball Machine as follows;
· From the Booking Sheet, select your date and time slot in the Ball Machine column, confirm and pay £8.
· Also, book the court you wish to use it on. Far court recommended.
· Cancellations – we recommend booking the Ball Machine no more than a day in advance in case you need to cancel for any reason, e.g., inclement weather. If you do need to cancel, please email gailhogg721@gmail.com within 7 days if you need to request a refund.
INDUCTION
Before using the Ball Machine for the first time, please attend a brief induction session with a member of the Committee or a coach in order to use the Ball Machine correctly and safely. The induction will cover;
· Booking procedure
· Health and Safety
· Machine programming and Use
· Remote Control
· Charging
· Care
Inductions will be held after club sessions depending on demand. Please contact a committee member to confirm.
USING THE BALL MACHINE
· Disconnect the charging cable and wheel the Ball Machine using the extending handle, locate on the court in the desired position. (See instructions for ideal locations).
· Ensure the bag is filled with balls.
· Adjust the settings i.e. speed, elevation, frequency of launches, oscillator etc.
· Switch the ‘Power Button’ to turn the Ball Machine on.
· Go to the other end of the court with your racket and the Ball Machine remote. (Note: the remote has limited range, but there is time delay before the machine starts launching balls, so you can press start on the remote and walk to your chosen location.
· Once finished turn the Ball Machine off at the power button.
· Collect all balls and place back in the Ball machine.
· Return to the clubhouse, place the remote in the side pocket and plug in ready for the next member to use.
RULES FOR USE
- Please treat the Ball Machine with respect.
· Ball Machine is not to be used during rain, drizzle or any time the court is wet.
· Ball Machine is for Members only – juniors must be supervised by an adult member at all times.
· Ball Machine to be booked out and paid for via Club Spark prior to use. Remember to book your court as well.
· Ball Machine must be plugged in when it is put back in the clubhouse.
· Ball Machine is heavy. Please take care if lifting.
· Remote Control must be returned and attached to the Ball Machine.
· Do not walk directly in front of the Ball Machine when it is in use.
· All balls must be picked up and placed back in the Ball Machine and put back in the Clubhouse within the time allotted for your reservation.
· Position the Ball Machine in order to avoid stray balls on neighbouring court.
· Users of the Ball Machine assume all risk, responsibility and liability for injury or damage to person or property arising from use.
· In case of any mechanical problems please contact a Committee Member.
SAFETY – at all times the User must not under any circumstances;
· Reach into the ball launching exit chute when the power is “ON”
· Look into the ball launching exit chute when the power is “ON”
· Stand directly in front of the ball launching exit chute at any time when the power is “ON”
· Insert any foreign objects of any kind into the ball hopper while the power is “ON”
