Stewkley Tennis Club will be running a Charity American Tournament on Sunday, July 3, 2022, for a bit of fun and to raise money for UK Cancer Research. Entry for the tournament is £10 per person to be collected on the day.

We have successfully had these events in the past but not for a few years.

The tournament is mixed doubles and pairings will be chosen out of a hat on the day. 

Tournament form in detail...
The pairings will play against all the other pairings. Each game will consist of 4 games with their partner and then switch partners to play 4 games against their partner and everyone to keep note of their individual scores i.e. 8-0, 4-4 or 6-2 etc. These will be entered onto a board and totalled at the end, to find out who was the tournament winning lady and winning man. To keep each game short, a sudden death nominated deuce to decide a tied point and net chords will be allowed on serve. A shared cup will be presented to the winning lady and man for one year with the cup inscribed for posterity and fame.

The tournament is mixed doubles and pairings will have already been chosen out of a hat. Approx. 30 minute break at 5 p.m. for tea, sandwiches and cake and is set to finish approx. at 7:30 p.m.

The emphasis is on everyone enjoying themselves.
