Tennis for a Tenner

The Tennis Lewisham 'Tennis for a Tenner' is an affordable programme designed to introduce new players of any age and ability into the sport. We run an Open Day on a given weekend with hour long (free) sessions for mini tots through to adults:

• 4-6 year olds
• 7-10 year olds
• 11+ year olds
• Adults
• Cardio tennis

Each weekend for five weeks thereafter we run £2 drop in sessions for the same groups of players at the same venue, meaning local residents get five weeks of tennis coaching for just £10!

We have run these programmes at Ladywell Fields, Catford Wanderers Sports Club, Manor House Gardens, Mayow Park, Sydenham Wells Park and Telegraph Hill in the past, and have run sessions in priority wards such as that near Catford.

Wheelchair Tennis

We run wheelchair tennis sessions for adults and for juniors, and had previously been running sessions for adult amputees at Ladywell Hospital. Please contact Michael Stephens at michael@southeastlondontennis.com with any enquiries.

Women and Girls

We run various sessions targeted specifically to women and girls, with adult cardio sessions delivered at various park sites and for girls by linking with local secondary schools. Please contact Chris Howard at chris@southeastlondontennis.com with any enquiries.

Tennis for students

Primary School

We run a Primary School tennis programme offering 6 weeks of 45 minute sessions for years 1-5. We support the Lewisham mini-red (Year 3 and 4) competition by offering training to competing Primary Schools and training the Tennis Leaders from local secondary schools to help run the competition.

Secondary School

We run a Secondary School tennis programme offering 2x 6 week blocks of tennis, and offer Tennis Leaders training.

London Youth Games

We are responsible for the London Youth Games team selection and offer coaching to Lewisham team representatives. If you are interested in taking part please contact Michael Stephens at michael@southeastlondontennis.com.
