Temporary guidelines for all members (revised 20 July 2020)

We ask that all members abide by the following guidelines, in line with the Government's advice on social distancing and hygiene, until further notice:

1) Undertaking any activity, including tennis, has the potential for increased risk of transmission of COVID-19 - all attendees should read the following advice: http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/staying-safe-outside-your-home/staying-safe-outside-your-home

2) Do not play if you, or others in your household, have any Coronavirus symptoms

3) If you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace because you are a contact of a known COVID-19 case, do not exercise outside your own home or garden and do not exercise with others

4) Pre-book all court usage in ClubSpark via the website. Please note: WTC needs to keep a temporary record of all those using the tennis courts in order to assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for data if needed. Court bookings should be made via the ClubSpark website where all player details can now be entered at the time of booking. The extra names will be viewable by Club Administrators only. ClubSpark's 'Booker app' has not been updated with this new functionality as yet, hence if not using the website, please keep a note of who you play with and when incase this information is requested by NHS Test and Trace.

5) Both Singles play and Doubles play is permitted with people from outside of your household, as long as you remain 2 metres apart as far as possible – meaning that four people from different households can now play Doubles

6) For Doubles, consider agreeing in advance which player will take the shot if a ball travels to the centre of the court

7) Do not arrive early for your booking or remain at the Club afterwards

8 ) Maintain social distancing (2m rule) at all times and especially when entering and leaving the courts

9) Take hand sanitizer with you if possible

10) Wash your hands, or use an alcohol gel, before and after a tennis session

11) Only use the clubhouse if you must to wash hands, use the toilet or access the first aid kit – and wipe down surfaces you touch with the wipes provided

12) Use your own equipment where possible. Equipment such as rackets can be shared, but ensure thorough cleaning before and after use. Players should not share items such as towels

13) Take a full water bottle, and do not share food or drink with others

14) Players do not need to use their own clearly marked tennis balls - however, if you choose to use shared balls then extra care must be taken to ensure you do not touch your face during play, and you should clean your hands before play and immediately after finishing (use alcohol gel if required)

15) Ensure you take all belongings with you at the end of the session - do not leave anything on court

16) Clean and wipe down your equipment, including rackets and water bottles, before and after use
