We have quite a few teams covering a wide variety of standards covering all abilities. So a big thank you to all team Captains and players for their commitment to Wantage Tennis Club without whom we would not have the active team play that we do.
The Dunlop League runs at weekends. Wantage Tennis Club has 2 Ladies teams and 4 Mens teams which participate in both the Winter and Summer Leagues, as well as 2 mixed teams in the Summer League. If you fancy some competitive tennis then there are many opportunities to play at all levels.
The Newbury League matches are held on Monday evenings, this is a 3 pair league playing just 1 set only against each pair taking part. You need to be on top of your game, there is no easing into the match with this league!!
The Midweek Leagues are also run by OLTA and are open to any member who is available to play at 10.00am on a week day. In the past this has been a Wednesday morning, but this may change. We have 1 ladies team playing competitive tennis, with the increased number of teams there are now 3 divisions. The Men’s Midweek League was only started last Summer and was a complete mix of teams with some very strong competitors, for the moment we do not have a mens team. For the coming season there has been more interest so we wait to see if there is more than one division. Lastly we have a mixed team which plays in a single division.
