This weekend saw top players from around the country come to Wetherby Padel Club for the first LTA Grade 2 tournament hosted by the club.  The tournament comprised of mens and womens open age category events. 

In the mens event, an all Warwickshire final saw Maniel Bains & Enrique Beneytez Martinez overcome Benjamin Coeulle & Guy Pearson 6-2, 6,1.  Where in the womens draw, home club coaches Angela Wood & Sophie Cousins were narrowly beaten in a match tiebreak by Susie Azoulay & Laura Jackson 3-6, 7-6, 5-10.

It was fantastic to see such talened players at the club where the competition was fierce but the atmosphere friendly.  Look out for more LTA sanctioned tournaments for players of all levels at the club soon.
