Our competition pathway offers competitive opportunities for players, supporting them to access appropriate competition at Wigmore LTC and local venues.
The pathway enables players to start competing in coaching, fun and recreational competitions before progressing to more formal tournaments at local venues.
1. Learn
Getting into competition through coaching is a great way to introduce kids and adults to competition. Players will have Matchplay weeks in their lessons. It’s fun , you play as part of a team, and you learn the rules.
2. Have Fun
Fun and recreational competitions are often your first experience of individual competition.
Mini Matchplays (Red, Orange, & Green stage players)
You will play some singles and doubles matches as part of a team. This builds upon the work being done in lessons and teaches players how to play matches in a fun way! There is no elimination, players just play and have fun!

3. Compete
Playing an event at Wigmore or an external tournament format. Everyone will get a number of singles or doubles matches and there will be an overall winner. These will count towards your World Tennis Number and your local rankings.

IMPORTANT - juniors & adults playing matches need a WTN (World Tennis Number)

(We also recommend this for Adults too!)
