Bank Holiday Monday, 7th May, was the date set aside for this year’s President’s Cup Tournament and the weather was glorious.

Twelve competitors each played with a series of different partners over 9 Rounds of 4-game matches.  Individual scores were then totted up, revealing the finalists who were Chris Langford and Tim Hooper on the men’s side, with Sue Hills and Judy Hawken triumphing on the ladies’ side.

After a closely-fought final, watched by the other competitors, eventual winners were Chris and Sue.  Club President, Ray Needham presented the cup and then tea was served, before a group of players and spectators settled down for a well-earned rest, a drink from the Bar, and an evening of cards.
