Junior Match Play and Tennis Ladder

FRIENDLY MATCH PLAY

Match play is a part of our sport. Whenever you are playing a set with a friend, playing points in squads, or playing Competition & Tournaments you are practicing points. Practicing match play is of huge importance to a Junior tennis players development.

However, we understand organising matches for Juniors can be difficult and the efforts of organisation often means match play falls through the cracks. To combat this set back and set our Juniors on their way to becoming tactical in their match play, please find the following dates of organised Junior group practice match play sessions below.

Please note, to take part in these matches you must hold a valid membership at the club, please see here for details on membership guidance.

COMPETITIVE JUNIOR TENNIS LADDER

The concept of a tennis ladder is simple. Players are arranged much like the steps of a ladder. The idea is to be at the top of the tennis ladder. Players simply challenge each other (their higher opponent) to a match, then the winning player takes the place of their higher ranked opponent, thus "leap-frogging" them.

Ladders are a blast. They are a great way to meet new players and improve match playing skills.
