Free membership for 10-and-unders

Along side the opening of our new synthetic clay courts and our Junior Red Court kids' area, St Ives Tennis Club initiated a drive to attract more youngsters to take up tennis.
The scheme includes the introduction of  free membership for juniors aged 10 and under.
Club chairman Chris Martin said: "We are keen to offer the opportunity to more local youngsters to take up tennis.
"We want to use this development as a springboard to help our club be a central part of the sporting community in St Ives, with key links into all the schools to help with participation."
Artificial clay is favoured by the Lawn Tennis Association and many leading coaches as the best surface for the develoipment of players.
LTA president David Rawlinson visited St Ives Tennis Club following the opening of our new courts and said: "It's great that you have got a really good new surface.
"Synthetic clay is the future and the LTA encourages it because it's a really good surface for coaching and player development,"
