Slinger Ball Machine

User Guide

Aberdour Tennis Club provides a Slinger ball machine for use by adult members to support coaching sessions, practice and skill development.

  • Members under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times when using the machine.
  • The Slinger can be booked using the existing court booking system on Clubspark and the Booker app. You must book a court at the same time as the Slinger.
  • Printed copies of this guide and the user manual can be found in the clubhouse.

Before Use

Please read the full Slinger user manual or arrange for an introductory guidance session with a committee member to familiarise yourself with safe operation and all of the available features. You can also find YouTube videos with helpful drill ideas and setup tips.

Important Rules for Use

Balls: Only yellow adult balls, orange and green child balls may be used with the ball machine. Red balls will not fit in this machine and will cause it to jam.

Capacity: The machine is optimised for 72 balls. Please do not add any more than this.

Weather: Do NOT attempt to use the machine in or immediately after wet weather. Please make sure that any balls you add to the hopper are free from detritus and leaves.

Batteries & Charging

We have invested in two batteries for our machine. One will be connected and ready to use; the other can be found in the main back cavity of the machine. Check the status of the connected battery; if it is depleted or run down, please remove it and charge it using the procedure below. The second battery should be fully charged and available for your session.

After Use

  • Remove the battery from the front panel and connect it to the charger & timer plug.
  • Set the countdown timer to 5 hours. If the charger displays a green light the battery is fully charged.
  • Take the second battery from the main cavity and attach it at the front panel so that the machine is ready to go for the next user.
  • Return the Slinger promptly to the clubhouse and store it in the shower room.

Reporting Issues
