Shropshire Summer League - Season Review

ALBRIGHTON 1 (Men):

Our Men’s 1st team were competing in Division 4N this year. A very competitive league which resulted in promotion for our 1st team this season! The team took an impressive 23 points from 9 games, losing just 1 match all season. The league was a tight affair, with just 4 points separating 2nd place and 5th place, demonstrating how competitive each match was. The lads will return to Division 3 in 2025 and will enjoy testing themselves against higher league opposition. Well done to captain Simon Jenkins and all of the players who took part this year and in representing Albrighton Tennis Club.

ALBRIGHTON 2 (Men):

Our Men’s 2nd team were competing in Division 4S this year. A highly competitive league, with a number of close matches being played throughout the season against some very strong sides. The lads finished 7th this season, 8 points ahead of the teams below and just two points behind 6th and 3 points behind 5th. The league standings went down to the final day, which shows just how tight the places were for retaining their Division 4S league status. Our 2nd team will play in Division 5 for the 2025 season, a division in which we were promoted from successfully in 2023. The 2nds will be looking to bounce back at the first attempt and will be ready for the challenge ahead! Well done to captain Simon Calver and all who took part this season and in representing Albrighton Tennis Club.

ALBRIGHTON 1 (Ladies):

Our Ladies 1st team were competing in Division 5S this year. Some fantastic games have been played and a lot of tight scorelines which could have gone either way. This was reflected in the final league standings where our Ladies team missed out on retaining their Division 5S status by just 3 points. The 1st team will be looking to return to Division 5S at the first time of asking next year! Well done to captain Nicki Longden and all who took part this season and in representing Albrighton Tennis Club.
