A number of competitions are played throughout the year at Albrighton Tennis Club, providing our members with regular tennis and opportunities for social play, making it a jam-packed calendar each year! 

As part of your membership, you can expect to see the following events taking place throughout the year: 

Shirley Buckley Trophy: An american doubles style event which is a firm favourite on the membership calendar to remember the late Shirley Buckley, who was an influential player/committee member at ALTC. 

Shropshire Summer Doubles League: Competitive team tennis against teams across Shropshire, playing at venues all across the county. 

Wimbledon Whites Event: An opportunity to get your best Wimby whites on and compete in a social tennis event in our very own version of Wimbledon! 

The Wood Cup: A great social event played by our day members which is a popular fixture on the ALTC calendar each year. 

"Battle of Albrighton" Team Event: A new event which combines both singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches to see which team can win the battle of Albrighton. 

Club Championships: The annual event to crown the champions of Albrighton Tennis Club! Events held for both Mens/Ladies Singles, Mens/Ladies Doubles, and the Mixed Doubles Event. Junior Club Championships are also a popular aspect of this event to crown our Junior champions. 

Shropshire Autumn Mixed Doubles League: Competitive team tennis against teams across Shropshire, playing at venues all across the county. 

Christmas Doubles Event: A festive Christmas doubles tournament to round out the calendar year of tennis at ALTC. Christmas hats are mandatory! 

LTA Grade 4/5 Events: This year we are looking to host some LTA Grade 4/5 events across our Junior categories, as well as Open Mens/Ladies events. Further information on this will be published in early 2025.
