Policies & Safeguarding

Safeguarding – everyone’s business

At Allt-Yr-Yn Tennis Club one of our main priorities is keeping all our members safe, and in particular our young members.

We have a number of safeguarding and club policies in place which you can view by clicking the links below:

Introducing our Welfare & Safeguarding Officer Cheryl Buck

Cheryl, our dedicated Welfare & Safeguarding Officer, is responsible for ensuring the safety of all club members. With her background as a retired teacher and extensive experience of working with children all ages, including those with additional needs, Cheryl is well equipped to address any concerns.

She has completed her level 1 Safeguarding course.

As an avid tennis player and long standing member of the club, Cheryl is easily approachable and can be contacted by email or phone. And you can find her at the club generally on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

We encourage you to share this information with your children and reach out to Cheryl if you have any concerns about their (or any club member) safety and well-being, such as

  • Inappropriate behaviour by a coach.
  • Inappropriate behaviour by another adult.
  • Your child is unhappy at tennis.
  • You feel your child is being bullied or singled out in any way.

We would also like to remind you that all lead coaches have a current DBS check and have all attended safeguarding and protecting children workshops in line with their coach licence.
