Bob Higgins has retired as Alveley Tennis Club Chairman and was elected Club President at the Annual General Meeting. He had been the Club Chairman since 1997 and worked tirelessly to develop the Club since he joined in 1979!

His work was recognised by the Lawn Tennis Association when last year he was awarded their Meritorious Service Award for service to Alveley Tennis Club and Tennis Shropshire for his enthusiasm, commitment, involvement and voluntary service to tennis at both club and county level for more than 40 years. He was the driving force behind a number of county competitions for many years,
