The present club was founded in October 1962 following approaches to interested residents in the immediate area.

The first President was his Grace the Duke of Norfolk KG.

In 1964 the first two courts were laid and a clubhouse built.   The latter was formally opened by Lady Cahn on the 11th September 1965.   Membership was 205 including 84 seniors, 40 juniors, 51 social and 30 life members.

Since its inception the club has progressively increased in membership, the clubhouse has been expanded and the number of courts increased to the present total of seven.
