Consequences

High standards create the environment conducive to success. There will be consequences for players not meeting the standards and for the avoidance of doubt, there will be no compromise. The consequences are not a form of punishment, but a method to instil discipline in players and allow them the opportunity to take full ownership and responsibility for their behaviours and actions. Setting and maintaining high standards will push players both psychologically and physically beyond their own self-imposed limits. Through this, players will learn to embrace hard work and in turn develop perseverance and the required character to become the best version of themselves. Players and parents who seek to be involved with the programme do so on this understanding.

Process of Consequences:

  • Any time a player fails to meet the standards, they will be told and expected to respond positively with no excuses.
  • If, in the same session, a player continues to consistently fail to meet the standards and shows no effort to acknowledge, accept and/or respond positively, they will sit out for the remainder of the session and the parents will be notified.
  • If, over multiple sessions, a player is consistently failing to meet the standards to the detriment of the other players and/or they are unwilling to work positively with the coach, they risk being removed from the programme.

Parents of players will have ongoing open lines of communication so they and the player will know if they are falling short in any of these areas.
