Last week the club's teams competed well but didn't fare so well in terms of results. All results and a list of upcoming fixtures can be seen here.
On Friday the club session was organised as an Americano style tournament. In this type of event players turn up as usual, although it helps to know in advance who is coming along. Players then play a series of doubles matches with different partners in each match. The points players earn in each match are totted up at the end of the event to find the overall winner. It is a very sociable way to play tennis with a slight competitive element to it. We had twelve players last Friday with Lucy organising, thank you Lucy. The winner on the night was William Gray, congratulations William. Following the session a majority of the players adjourned to the Bengal Merchant for a pleasant social meal. Look out for more Americano events throughout the summer.
Entries are still open for two upcoming club tournaments: the Ladies Club Team Singles on Tuesday 26th May and The Eileen Connelly Vase on (a doubles event where you arrange your own partner - any gender - before entering) on Friday 12th June. See the Events page here.
