Court Lighting Consultation
Club lighting was installed and fully functional as at 16th September 2023. Our thanks go to Adrian Yates for his tireless work on the Project.
Update 6th June 2022
We are pleased to announce that we have received planning permission for the installation of lighting on all four courts. We have placed an order for delivery and installation. Work to facilitate the installation of fence netting and lights is expected to take place in early July this year.
The work required should not result in significant disruption to the community but will result in the courts being out of action for a few days. We will update this section of the website when dates are confirmed
Update 13th June 2021
Thank you for taking part in the resident and member consultations which were carried out in March and April this year. The feedback we received was extremely useful.
Following consultation with residents and members, we have decided to seek planning permission for the Tweener fence lighting system along the fences of our four courts and have decided not to seek permission for any system involving installation of lighting columns.
We have received a number of helpful suggestions from residents as to further possible mitigations to any effect on neighbours which we have added to those we already had in mind. If you are a Baxter Park resident, then you may potentially receive communication from the council regarding the application.
The main mitigations planned are as follows, however there is a further document below which covers these in more detail.
1) Installation of windbreak netting around all courts to increase privacy for residents and further decrease light spillage from the Tweener system. Spillage contour diagrams for the courts are linked below.
2) Curfew of 2200 hours automatically enforced. i.e. The lighting system will not be operable by members after curfew.
3) Communication with members regarding use of the car park - a separate low level safety light is proposed to allow for members to access their cars in the dark up until 15 minutes after curfew.
