Court Resurfacing - We are delighted to announce that we have placed an order for 3 brand new Tiger Turf Advantage Pro Tennis Courts which are due to be installed in February 2026 ahead of the new tennis season. The new astroturf surface will replace the 3 current tarmac courts in front of the club house.
Fundraising - The club is hugely grateful to Sport England and the National Lottery who have supported the club through their Movement Fund. The £15,000 donation has allowed the club to invest in the new facilities whilst maintaining competitively priced membership. We are keen to make tennis and racket sports accessible to the local community.
Sponsorship - The committee would also like to thanks Rossini Restaurant in Gatley who have agreed to sponsor the tennis club. We are grateful for their contribution towards resurfacing the courts and providing a great facility for the local residents.
Club Championships - The club celebrated it's 90th Anniversary over the weekend of 26th-28th September. The annual championship finals concluded (ladies and mens singles, mens doubles and mixed doubles finals will take place on Sunday 28th September. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone who entered.
Coaching - We have year round coaching for children and adults run by Adam Robison our Head Coach. This takes place every Tuesday and from April 13th 2025 we will be starting on Sunday mornings. The first lesson is FREE. For more information on coaching click here.
Pickleball - We are introducing pickleball and have 2 courts marked out on court 4. Social sessions will be commencing in April on Sunday at 2pm and Wednesday at 7pm. All equipment provided. For more information on Pickleball click here.
Lighting - Court lighting is available to allow members to play year round. Courts are available to book via the website or the clubspark app. Courts are free for members during daylight hours and just £2 per 30 minutes if you require lights.
Clubhouse - The clubhouse is equipped with a kitchen and toilets. Drinks are available priced at £1 for tea, coffee and soft drinks. Please pay by scanning the QR code on the wall or placing £1 in the donation box.
Team Tennis - We currently have 3 mens teams (SW Manchester Div 5 & 6 and NE Cheshire Div 10) for 2026 season as we entered a new team following our successful promotion. We are looking to increase this in 2027 by adding a womens team. If you are interested in representing the club in one of the teams, please contact Adrian Yates (07917 134586)
Welcome to Baxter Park and Brookside Tennis Club. We are a small, friendly club in a residential area just a stroll from Gatley village.
There are 4 macadam courts (3 of which are due to be replaced by AstroTurf in Feb 2026) and a clubhouse with toilet and kitchen facilities, in addition to a small car park. Since September 2022 we also have floodlights on all 4 courts. There is an extra charge for this which is applicable on booking.
We currently have 2 mens teams in the North East Cheshire Summer League and We would love to enter a ladies team into the summer league in the future and are always looking for new members.
We have dedicated social play which is currently under review to ensure we are providing the opportunities that members want. In the meantime the social play is as follows:
- Team Practice: Mondays 7 - 9pm
- Coaching: Tuesdays 5 - 8:30pm and Sunday 10:00 - 12:30 (see coaching section)
- Social Play: Wednesdays 7 - 9pm including tennis and Pickleball
- Social Play: Sundays 2 - 4pm including tennis and Pickleball

Baxter Park Bowling and Community Club are our friendly neighbours and come under the Baxter Park Sports Club umbrella.
Bowling club membership costs just £35.00 for the 2022 season or support and become a Friend of The Green from just £2.00 per month.
