BLTC follow latest Government Guidance...

Bearsden Lawn Tennis Club are committed to ensuring we follow the latest Scottish Government and Tennis Scotland guidance on playing tennis during the current pandemic. We check the guidance on a regular basis and update as changes are announced.

UPDATE: 10 March

Tennis Scotland and the LTA have liaised with sportscotland and have now updated the summary grid of permitted tennis activity by levels of protections to reflect what the latest guidelines mean for tennis activity in Scotland.  This includes updated information for Level 4 outdoor guidance confirming that doubles is permitted, organised group activity/coaching for up to 15 people is allowed, there are updated social contact limits for people/households, and updated travel guidance for Level 4 areas.  The updates to permitted tennis activity are from Friday 12 March until further notice.

The key points are:

  • Adults and children can take part in outdoor singles and doubles tennis.
  • Coaching is permitted for up to 15 participants.
  • Physical distancing to be maintained before, during and after play at all times across all levels.

Summary Tennis Guidelines

Bearsden Lawn Tennis Club is a thriving tennis club, providing excellent facilities for both social and team players.  Founded in 1887, the club is one of the oldest in the region and is set in a most attractive location near Bearsden Cross.

We have four flood-lit artificial grass courts (rejuvenated in 2019), and one Mini Tennis court.  In 2018,  the whole clubhouse was modernised and fitted-out to provide excellent facilities.

The membership currently stands at about 230, and we field 4 Ladies, 3 Mens, 6 Veterans, 3 Juniors and 3 Mini-Tennis teams in the West of Scotland Leagues.
