Bearsden Lawn Tennis Club are committed to ensuring we follow the latest Scottish Government and Tennis Scotland guidance on playing tennis during the current pandemic. We will check the guidance on a regular basis and update as changes are announced.
UPDATE: 6 January
Following on from the First Minister’s announcement of new stay at home regulations coming into effect on 5 January, we have updated our guidance to reflect the new level 4 restrictions for recreational tennis activity.
The key changes to the level 4 restrictions are as follows:
- Adults and children aged 12 and above can only take part in outdoor singles tennis, unless all participants are members of the same household or extended household. This is in line with the requirement that only up to 2 people from 2 different households may participate in outdoor sport and exercise.
- Those aged 11 and below are exempt from these gathering limits, and organised outdoor group tennis activity for under-12s can continue in line with COVID-Secure guidance from the Scottish Government, Tennis Scotland and the LTA, and sportscotland.

Bearsden Lawn Tennis Club is a thriving tennis club, providing excellent facilities for both social and team players. Founded in 1887, the club is one of the oldest in the region and is set in a most attractive location near Bearsden Cross.
We have four flood-lit artificial grass courts (rejuvenated in 2019), and one Mini Tennis court. In 2018, the whole clubhouse was modernised and fitted-out to provide excellent facilities.
The membership currently stands at about 230, and we field 4 Ladies, 3 Mens, 6 Veterans, 3 Juniors and 3 Mini-Tennis teams in the West of Scotland Leagues.
