Conduct, Safeguarding and Inclusion

Belper Meadows Tennis Club is a members’ club that welcomes people from all sections of the community.

To ensure that all those playing at the club have a great experience we have Codes of Conduct for adults,
juniors, parents and coaches/volunteers. The purpose of our rules and policies is to outline our
commitment to protecting children and adults at risk and provide the necessary information to enable
people to meet their safeguarding responsibilities. The main policies and procedures are outlined below.
Our rules and policies apply to any person who plays, coaches, officiates, volunteers or otherwise visits our
venue. Hardcopies of these documents can be found on our notice board in the club house.

All those using the facilities are expected to treat all other members and all other players respectfully.
Social and competitive matches should be played in a friendly spirit. Coaching is supportive and intended
to enable everyone to reach their potential. Etiquette on court is governed by our Codes of Conduct. The
Club will not accept any behaviour which may cause any physical or mental harm to any other member or
player.

Members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns they may have with our

Safeguarding.

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all our members. We have
adopted the LTA Safeguarding Policy to help us to minimise risk, deliver a positive tennis experience for
everyone and respond appropriately to all safeguarding concerns/disclosures.

Inclusion

Our aim is to make tennis inclusive and open to a diverse range of people. Our Diversity & Inclusion policy
helps us to ensure that these principles are embedded in our club’s culture and our behaviours.

Bullying

Our anti-bullying policy sets out how we strive to ensure that young people and adults at risk are
safeguarded from abuse whilst having an enjoyable tennis experience. The policy sets out how to prevent
bullying from occurring and how to ensure it is stopped as soon as possible.

Whistle Blowing

We have a Whistle blowing policy if someone needs to raises a concern about the well-being of a child or
an adult at risk.

Photography and Online Safety

Our online safety policy sets out how the Club uses the internet and social media. Our Photography and
Filming policy outlines the acceptable use of media at our venue. These policies seek to protect children
involved with our organisation and provide coaches and volunteers with the information they need to
work safely and respond to incidents.
