Level 1 and Level 2 Courses

LEVEL 1 COACHING ASSISTANT (GROWING THE GAME)

3 days course  on 8th May, 9th May and  30th May @ University of Reading - Credits - 12 Coach credits

The LTA Level 1 Coach Assistant Qualification is the first step on the LTA Coaching Pathway. It is aimed at people looking to work as a coaching assistant at a club or other tennis venue, such as a park or a school. The qualification is an assessed course and is awarded by 1st4sport.

Upon successful completion candidates will be able to work as an assistant coach alongside a minimum of a Level 2 Accredited Coach in a beginner coaching session.

The course is 3 days in duration, split over a minimum period of 4 weeks and will cover areas such as Mini Tennis, technique, tactics, communication, organisation, demonstrations, safeguarding, running competitive events and organising activity sessions. Additionally, the course requires candidates to complete a portfolio and gain a minimum of three hours experience assisting an LTA Accredited+ coach between the second and third day of the course.


LEVEL 2 COACHING ASSISTANT (GROWING THE GAME)

5 day course on 5th June, 6th June, 26th June, 27th June and 18th July @ University of Reading 

Credits: 15 Coach credits

The LTA Level 2 Coach Assistant Qualification is a 5 day assessed course aimed at people looking to progress from the Level 1 and is the second step on the LTA Coaching Pathway. The qualification is an assessed course and is awarded by 1st4sport.

Upon successful completion you will be able to lead the delivery of group coaching under the guidance of a minimum of a Level 3 Accredited or Accredited+ coach.

The course is 5 days in duration, consisting of 4 days of delivery and 1 day of assessment.  The course is split over a minimum period of 4 weeks and will cover areas such as lesson structure, teaching progressions, ball characteristics, physical skills, mental skills and running activities for large groups. Additionally, the course requires candidates to complete a portfolio and gain a minimum of eight hours experience assisting an LTA Accredited+ coach between the second and third day of the course.
