Volunteers’ Week 3-9 June

As we continue to celebrate National Volunteers Week,  we are pleased to send you this message from the LTA President Sandi Proctor and acknowledge the fantastic contribution all our volunteers make to tennis in Berkshire.  Thank you.

How is your club celebrating your volunteers this year?

Send us photos and stories of volunteers at your club or programme who have gone above and beyond in their roles and we would love to help you celebrate by sharing on our social media channels and website:   office@bekshiretennis.org.uk or lara.suarez@berkshiretennis.org.uk

We know that volunteers make a fantastic contribution to your venues every week and that without their time, energy, dedication and goodwill, venues would not run smoothly.

This is your opportunity to shout out for your volunteers and make them feel valued.

CHRIS DODD – HUNGERFORD TENNIS CLUB

Chris has been and continues to be an outstanding servant to Hungerford Tennis Club, his tireless work in maintaining the courts is legendary; from washing the courts, clearing moss, spraying, leaves clearance. Hedge trimming, maintenance of any kind - Chris is always there.

His court preparation prior to the home matches is again sometimes unseen; setting the courts and the viewing area up for what are week-long and very enjoyable evenings.   His expertise and knowledge on groundworks are brought to bear whenever contractors are required, his eye for detail is famous, which has resulted in our courts being in great condition, with very good playability and usually good drainage.  On top of all this Chris works hard at committee level, bringing his calm logic to every situation. He has held many roles including chair.  Chris is the one that always volunteers first and does the task efficiently and without fanfare.

Thank you on behalf of the County for his tremendous contribution to his club
