Berkshire Tennis Committee Vacancies

Join Our Team!

Berkshire Tennis is currently recruiting for a Chair of the Board of Trustees and a Governance Secretary. Berkshire Tennis is a county tennis association which is a member of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), the National Governing Body for Tennis in Great Britain. The County Association is in the transitional phase of becoming a CIO.

Once Charitable status has been granted, the role of the Chair will be to lead the Charity, working with fellow Trustees to set its strategic direction to ensure it delivers on its charitable aims to support Berkshire Tennis. The Governance Secretary will oversee the LTA  Governance Code, of which we are currently 100% compliant. This is required in order to access full LTA County Funding.

The management of Berkshire Tennis is overseen by a volunteer Management Board elected annually by its members. This committee in turn takes responsibility for the administration and development of tennis throughout the County as well as all remunerated roles required to support the work of the Association. The vision and mission of Berkshire Tennis are aligned with those of the LTA: ‘Tennis Opened Up’, to help transform communities through tennis, focusing on three areas – making tennis welcoming, enjoyable and inspiring to everyone.

The Association works closely with the LTA to promote and deliver agreed strategies and carry out specific responsibilities at County level. We value diversity and inclusion and encourage people from all backgrounds and experiences to apply to join Berkshire Tennis, to help broaden our perspectives in everything we do. We want our members to be advocates for equality in the role they hold and to embed equality, diversity and inclusion into all work and functions.
