Social tennis is a regular club feature. New adult players are able to mix in with the regulars and enjoy doubles or singles play in a relaxed and welcoming environment. All members, young or old, can play on our courts subject to the scheduled club programme.
In the summer season (approximately from April to October) there are regular sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings commencing about 5:30pm and at weekends on Saturday afternoon from 1:30pm and Sunday evening from 4pm. All members meeting the required standard are welcome, but we do ask members to play with others of similar ability. In the winter these sessions run on Saturday and Sunday afternoons starting at 1pm.
There is a Ladies open session every Thursday 9:30 to 11:30.
Junior and Adult coaching programmes normally run on Saturday mornings and at certain times during school holidays
Bloomfield has 3 teams in the Chippenham and District League, home matches are played Monday & Wednesday evenings during the Summer Season. For more information click here.
A small number of club tournaments, which are open to all members, are run over the Summer season, usually outside of normal Club play sessions.
At all other times members are free to use the courtsuse the courts as much as and for as long as they wish. Members can also bring guests, paying a small guest fee (£5 Adult, £2 Junior)
At times during the Coronavirus pandemic social tennis and competitions have not been possible due to the restrictions in place. During this time we have encouraged competative play through Box Leagues. Details on how they work, when they are scheduled and current results can be found at the links below.
These leagues are currently on hold, but may be re-started during the 2021/22 season, depending on interest.
