Team Tennis
We are at the time of the year when we are looking forward to our team tennis for 2026, and our entries for the upcoming season. We are presuming that all team players from last season are keen to continue this year. However, if you do not wish to play team tennis or only wish to be available for certain teams (i.e. different age groups, men’s only, mixed only etc) please let me know (details below). You do not need to contact me if your circumstances remain the same as in 2025. Anybody new to the club who would like to be considered for the teams, please contact Jill at boldon.ltc@outlook.com.
Team Practice
We would like to offer players an opportunity to prepare for the season by organising team practices where players will be arranged into groups of similar ability. We anticipate these sessions running through March/April and will be at a time to fit in with organiser and court availability.
However, we need a volunteer to co-ordinate these sessions or else they will not be able to take place. It will not be an onerous task - turn up every week, sort tennis balls and organise groups on the night (although we would hope that other people would help with this task). If you think this is something you could help with (even on a shared basis if you cannot commit to every week) please let me know. We really would be grateful for any help you could offer.
Finals Day
This year it will be held on Saturday 12th September.
Please feel free to contact me if you want to discuss any of the above points in more detail.

Quiz Night this Saturday!
There are a couple of tickets available for our our BIG FAT QUIZ OF 2025! This will be held on Saturday 7th February at 7pm. Test your knowledge of all things 2025 and enjoy a warming bowl of home-made soup and a piece of stottie for £8 per ticket. Bring your own drink as usual. Friends and family very welcome. Don’t worry if you don’t have a team: we’ll make sure you’re added to one of the groups of players. Just let us know how many tickets you require at boldon.ltc@outlook.com and pay your money into the usual bank account with the reference “quiz”. Hope to see you there!
Durham & Cleveland Awards Night
It was a good night for Boldon Lawn Tennis Club last night at the Durham and Cleveland awards. The club was Highly Commended in the Club of the Year category. We won School of the Year for the work our Head Coach does with Epinay Business School. Viv Wilson received a beautiful trophy in recognition of all the work she has carried out for the LTA over many years. She was also runner up with Paul Andrew in the over 65 Mixed County Closed. Paul Andrew won the over 65 Singles County Closed and also won the Men's Doubles over 65 with Alan Jones. (Third year running!)
George Bowen was runner up in the Men's Singles and Doubles and Young Persons Award. Well done to all our players and our volunteers who work very hard behind the scenes to manage the club. Pictures can be seen on our FB page: https://www.facebook.com/BoldonLTC/
