Important message about court closures

The good news is that courts 1, 2 and 3 are being replaced, beginning on Monday 22nd September. Hooray! The bad news is that of course this means that the courts will be closed for approximately 3 weeks. Access is needed across courts 4 and 5 and heavy machinery will be parked in the carpark. If we can release court 6 at any time we will let you know but for the moment, assume it is closed too for Health and Safety reasons.

However, because of Head Coach Hannah’s links to tennis in the parks, we are able to book courts in any of the South Tyneside Parks free of charge while our courts are out of action. All you need to do is message her on 07908 512960. Tell her which park you would like to book and the date, time and for how long and she will send you a code for access at the allotted time. The parks are:
Carr Ellison Park in Hebburn
Cornthwaite Park in Whitburn
Coulthard Park in Cleadon
Redhead Park in South Shields
West Park, also in South Shields

Please cancel your booking with Hannah if you no longer need it.

Social Sunday courts will be booked at a park to be decided, but probably at Redhead Park or West Park, both in South Shields, as they have more courts available. We will let you know as soon as we have organised the booking. Social Sunday will be at Boldon as usual on 21st September. Thursday Night social will have to start a bit earlier due to there being no lights at the park courts, but again, as soon as we have the details we will let you know. This Thursday’s social tennis will be at Boldon as usual.

We are very grateful to Hannah for enabling us to continue with tennis whilst our courts are unavailable.

Finals Day and Awards Night

A great day of tennis was had on Saturday and although the weather tried to spoil the day, it didn’t succeed, with only a couple of showers forcing play to stop for a short time. Photos of the finalists can be found on our Facebook page. Well done to all our finalists, which included three new members, and congratulations to our winners.

The winners will receive their trophies at our Awards Night which will be held at Boldon Cricket and Squash Club (NE36 0BT) on Friday 17th October at 7pm. Tickets are £20 and can be reserved by emailing us at boldon.ltc@outlook.com and paying your money into the usual bank account with the reference Awards Night. Friends and family are more than welcome. We have a maximum capacity of 50 so please book early. Review of the year in pictures, buffet and disco included in the price. See you there!
