Boldon Tennis Club partnership with South Tyneside Epinay School

Congratulations to Epinay School who, together with our club, has scooped a prestigious Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) National Award. Special congratulations go to our Head Coach Hannah who has been working with Epinay since September 2024 bringing tennis to pupils who have a range of complex physical and learning needs.

When Hannah took over as Boldon’s Head Coach, she was determined to develop a more inclusive approach to coaching—‘opening up’ tennis and our club to the wider community. Linking with Epinay School this past year, Hannah has worked with more than 170 pupils. This culminated in the school’s senior pupils completing the LTA’s Tennis Leaders qualification. They then successfully delivered a Tennis Festival for more than 40 younger pupils, enhancing leadership, organisation and social skills. With continuity funding secured, the club has developed a strong community link with Epinay, enabling students to access tennis outside of school and encouraging their continued participation.
