Club Champs Finals Day This Sunday!
Don’t forget to pop along to support all those playing in both the main draw and the plate competition which conclude this Sunday. The BBQ will be in action from around 11.30am so do bring along something to pop onto the grill. We are looking for volunteers to bring bread, salads or cakes. If you can help please let Jax know at jax.brabazon@gmail.com
The running order will be put on the website in the next few days so do keep checking back here. It is yet to be finalised as matches are still being played and some players will, likely, be playing in more than one event.
We are also looking for people who would like to try their hand at umpiring. If you are willing to help, please let Ali know at Ali@j-mer.co.uk
To get into the spirit you might want to look at who has won in previous years. If you can fill in any of the blanks or can see any errors please let either Alison or Jax know on doyle860@btinternet.com or jax.brabazon@gmail.com respectively.
Box Leagues
Watch out for more information on the Box Leagues which will be restarting in October. An entry form will shortly be released and, given Club matches will restart imminently, will likely be boxes of four playing over three months.
Juniors
Please just mention that the new block of Saturday coaching will be starting on the 11th of September. Details will be sent out on how to sign up tonight. If anyone has any questions please email me directly.
August Bank Holiday American Tournament
Fun was had by all who participated in the recent Bank Holiday American Tournament. Twenty-three members battled it out for the top spot. Congratulations to new member Lauren Chester who won the ladies prize and to Michael Ferguson and Matt Rolfe who shared the top spot for the men. Following the tournament the not-so-new BBQ had another outing so thanks to all those who provided salads, breads and desserts.
Bovingdon Fun Run
Last Sunday saw several members swapping their tennis shoes for running ones. Congratulations to all those who completed the 10k or 3k runs. It was also great to see so many members volunteering as marshals, or cyclists. Congratulations to Richard Taylor who once again organised a hugely successful event.
