Braid men’s teams had a good run in the East Of Scotland inter-club singles event this year. We entered two teams which shows the depth of players we’ve now got in the squad. The second team had a good match against Dunfermline in the early rounds but unfortunately their run ended at that stage. The first team had a really successful run to the semi final, where we unfortunately couldn’t overcome a strong Barnton Park team. Well done to everyone who played and represented the club this year.

The Braid ladies won the East of Scotland interclub singles event last week, beating The Meadows in the final 2-1, having beaten Hatton (3-0), Lomond Park (3-0) and Mortonhall (3-0) to reach the final. Players representing the team were Mhairi Beattie, Suzie Provan, Eva Vrhunec. A great result and well deserved! 

We had 2 other teams entered in the event, which shows the strength and depth of the ladies at the club. They were beaten by Grange and Hatton in the 1/4 finals. Players representing Braid in the matches for these teams were:

Amy Allen, Marianna van Orden, Rachel Baker, Lorraine Stronach, Hazel Thomson, Mhairi Reid & Diana Dalton.
